California sandwich owner's shop closed after an email he sent to employees about BLM

(first page of a copy of email posted on Twitter)

Mickey Mann, is the former owner of the Mr. Pickle's Sandwich Shop in Davis.  The corporate office  terminated his franchise and the  store is permanently closed.

He was asked by some employees if they could wear a Black Lives Matter pin. Mann claims he politely said no. He said the store had a policy for eight years that they do not allow political stances in the store of any kind and he would have said the same if the pin was for any cause including a Trump hat.

Mann said an employee showed up for a shift wearing the button. He told her to go home. She did but she returned with a group of protesters. Mann said the emoyees forced a political issue into a nonpolitical space. He and his wife said they felt bullied.

Mann sent an email to employees which he regrets writing. A copy of that email was posted on Twitter.
