Preliminary hearing was scheduled this morning for assault suspect Damien Carlson. A previous package deal offer has to be renegotiated since Carlson picked up new charges while in custody.
Carlson was dressed in a red jumpsuit and which means he is in "admin segregation" and was cuffed and shackled.
Summary is People's motion to continue granted. DA Investigator is out on a pre planned vacation and will not be back until July 2. Preliminary reset for 1:30 on 7/6 with Carlson appearing via Zoom. Also set for 9:15 on 7/6 with all four cases for judicial intervention to see if resolution can be reached. Courtroom availability also an issue.
Deputy District Attorney Shelly Small is the prosecutor for the case. Deputy Public Defender David Celli is Carlson's attorney.
