A 2016 case, Brian Fiore vs Humboldt County District Attorney was scheduled for a pre trial and evidentiary hearing on May 5. That date had been vacated and reset for today. It was stated last time, the hearing was unlikely to proceed today.
Fiore is now being represented by Mr. Russ Clanton. Deputy District Attorney Steven Steward appeared on the case for the People today.
Judge Timothy Canning set the evidentiary hearing for August 10 which was a request for Mr. Clanton. Three expert witnesses will testify. Time estimate is 3 hours.
Fiore's CDC admission date is 8/1/2012 and he is currently housed in the High State Desert Prison. He is eligible for parole in May 2028.
Judge Kaleb Cockrum is disqualified from hearing the case.
