"I am more than competent to stand trial", Richard French goes off on a rant in court and hearing on competency is continued to tomorrow

Receipt of Dr. Wilson's report was scheduled for assault Richard French this morning.

Deputy Public Defender Wade Orbelian appeared on behalf of Mr. Ben McLaughlin, who is on FFCRA leave. Before the issue of receiving the report could be addressed, French went off on a rant.

"I am a victim of assault."

"The doctor's opinion, she only saw me for 15 minutes and never got back to me."

French also complained that his attorney never came to see him.

"I have been unfairly incarcerated. I am expecting to go home today."

"I have been denied due process by Judge Elvine-Kreis four times. He is part of my case for corruption in the Public Defender's office. " French mentioned a Jennifer Mackey in reference to this other case.

French's rant ended with, " I am more than competent to stand trial."

He kept speaking despite Mr. Orbelian's attempt to calm him down. Mr. Orbelian kept teling French that,"we are not here to discuss the facts of your case. Let me receive the report and I or another public defender will come see you today."

Judge Timothy Canning also tried to prevent the rant explaining to French he would reschedule the hearing so French could speak with a public defender. Unfortunately, French ranted on until the hearing on his competency was continued to tomorrow.
