The "I didn't do it" defense isn't original but in this case it was funny

Court appearances and hearings with frequently arrested Shannon Tobin are always entertaining.

Today, after time was set for her preliminary hearing, as she exited the jail conference room, she said, "I didn't do it". The only person in the jail conference room with her was the correctional deputy, who was off screen.

Her attorney, Deputy Public Defender David Celli was in court. He quipped, " That's right. That is the best defense."

Laughter and smiles from Deputy District Attorney Shelly Small and Judge Kaleb Cockrum.  The only other people in the courtroom were court staff and Ms. Andrea Sullivan, waiting on a case. Others still waiting on the 9:15 calendar via Zoom like me appreciated the humor.
