Pamela Millsap held to answer on all charges


Judge Kaleb Cockrum gave a lengthy explaination about his ruling. Bail remain as set. Arraignment on information is on July 9.

"The fact that a Judge struggles with a case has no bearing to those involved," said Judge Cockrum.

"It started with a burrito wrapped in a refridgerator and ends in a horrible tragedy."

He researched case law and that as he listened to facts daily, his ruling regarding the holding order evolved. Judge Cockrum while he held Millsap to answer for voluntary manslaughter, "that is not to say he does not see the possibility of self defense at trial. " He also asked that the involuntary manslaughter instruction be given.

Judge Cockrum explained that Pamela Millsap raising the gun at John Doe for the second time is what made this voluntary manslaughter and "we go into conscious disregard for life."

"She was not attacked physically," said Judge Cockrum. " She was allowed to walk past him."

Judge Cockrum asked to speak with Deputy Conflict Counsel April Van Dyke off record after his ruling.
