CAST interview not played, 911 call played, Jane Doe tells dispatch her brother was shot in the hip

Day 3 of murder suspect Pamela Millsap's preliminary hearing on June 26 started with the DA's objection to Jane Doe's CAST interview being played sustained.  As I wrote last night, Judge Kaleb Cockrum said it would not augment anything that had not already been covered by Det. Corrie Watson's testimony.

We heard the redacted 911 call. which was four separate edits.

Lot of static. You hear a hysterical Jane Doe. At one point, dispatch asks, "Are you there? I need you to answer my questions."

Hear female voice, "I need an ambulance now."

Jane Doe responding to dispatch says brother was "shot in the hip."

Millsap says, "I accidentally shot my son."

During redirect, Ms. Timm effectively challenged Millsap's boyfriend's credibility, statements he made about John Doe's prior threats weren't as portrayed yesterday.

Millsap's own boyfriend said John Doe never threatened Jane Doe.

Michael Darcy, the father of John Doe's best friend Liam said John Doe was polite and had a character of peacefulness.

Jane Doe said Millsap had the gun pointed to the ground and then raised it and then John Doe grabbed the gun. That part was left out during cross.

It was during redirect that Ms. Timm asked Det. Watson about death threats allegedly made by John Doe while Millsap had the shotgun. This was according to Jane Doe. Det. Watson said it was something to the effect, "Shoot me. I am miserable."

Millsap's boyfriend told Det. Watson she did not clean even though she considered herself a housewife.

2:31: redirect still happening. Through specific examples of the differing versions Millsap gave in her interview with Det. Watson versus other testiminy and evidence, Ms. Timm is being very effective in raising doubt about Millsap.

3:08: break. Recross is a waste of time. Showing desperation on part of defense.

After break, people rest. Defense calls EPD Officer Young Porambo. Her testimony was brief and ended up damaging Alexander B's testimony when Ms. Timm questioned Officer Porambo.

Further loss for defense when witness Dan Carmel was not allowed to testify. Judge Cockrum said, "I am going to 352".He agreed with Ms. Timm's objection and said there was no prohibitive value. Witness cannot identify the male and the two people he heard are unrelated to the charges.

3:50:  Judge Cockrum heard the entire 911 call and requested livestream be muted. It is offline.
