Sherae O'Shaughnessy pleads guilty and has moved to Oregon


Trial setting/possible change of plea for Sherae O' Shaughnessy was scheduled for July 7. Instead she was on the on calendar this morning for deferred entry of judgement and entry of plea.

O'Shaughnessy was charged with battery committed against a spouse. She pleaded guilty.

Today, Deputy Public Defender Jessica Bennett appeared on the case. Deputy DA Andy Truitt was present in court for the People.

Ms. Bennett told Judge Joyce Hinrichs that O'Shaughnessy "recently moved to Oregon. She is seeing a therapist in North Bend every Monday, has a psychiatrist and entered rehab for 30 days."

Terms of the plea and DEJ include that O'Shaughnessy continue therapy, obey all laws and there be no assaultive conduct.

Deputy District Attorney Jessica Acosta and Deputy Public Defender Rosemary Deck had reached a plea deal previously for deferred entry of judgement which includes counseling.  Ms. Deck was going to discuss the offer with O'Shaughnessy.

Next court date is June 30, 2021 to see if O'Shaughnessy has successfully completed the conditions of her DEJ and plea.
