LAPD budget cut, moratorium on gang database with money reinvested into certain communities

Yesterday, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti announced  a proposal to cut Los Angeles' city budget by $250 million and reinvest those dollars into the black community, communities of color, women and "people who have been left behind." This includes cuts of $150 million to the LAPD including reverse a $122 million increase slotted for the LAPD in the budget. Garcetti also declared a moratorium on putting people in the gang data base.
