Being called faggot, trans slurs and threatened by a woman who thinks I shouldn't write about a criminal case

An older woman who has some connection with assault and kidnapping suspect Kevin Carns has been at every court hearing. He has a restraining order, supervised release was denied and he faces life

There have been different younger women at some hearings. I just assumed she was his mother until today.

This nut case screamed in the middle of one of Carn's hearing at the Judge and before today, every time she sees me at the Courthouse or the second floor, I have stayed clear of her. The rage, the looks I could tell she wanted to hit me or harm me.

Today, she got that opportunity, I was in the ATM area by Wells Fargo, she was in a large truck wuth a dusty windshield with the letters K (heart ) C with her husband. No one was around. As soon as I saw her, I knew there would be trouble. There was nowhere to go.

She screamed something about my blog."Quit writing..." I ignored her. She was screaming and it was intense. I thought I heard her say my name.

Then she jumped out and called me "faggot" and was right in my face. I told her to stop yelling at me and calling me names and to get away from me. I also told her I was not going to stop covering court cases every time some criminal's family got pissed off or threatened me.

At that point her husband jumped out telling me not to talk to his wife "like that." Both looked like they were going to punch me. I told them I was calling 911.

"Call the fucking cops, I don't care." the woman yelled. She was screaming as I was on the phone with dispatch and gave them the license number. She made a transphobic remark.

Of all days not to have a pen and paper. An EPD officer called me back. By this time, I was back at 6th and I. Thanks to Officer Hooks, I have the CAD number.

Yesterday, I had a different experience. Someone I have seen in the courts, who is now out in the streets used to park and live in his car when I lived in Old Town. He saw me yesterday near my current place. He said, what are you doing here? Even he knows my current neighborhood isn't safe. "You kept that place really safe and clean." He used to like to park where I lived because he knew it would be quiet and safe.

I use my name. I have my photo. And I take risks covering what I do.

Media that try and do their jobs are being threatened every day. California Governor Gavin Newsom and  weak politicians continue to endanger law enforcement, media and law abiding citizens. The pandemic and the protests have made it worse.

Now this woman, like many in Humboldt, is in denial about the criminals she hangs out with and like many in Humboldt misdirects her anger at me and others  because of apathy and silence in Humboldt and tolerance of trashy behavior.

6/24 update: I have seen this woman before. I had a feeling she works or worked at the Courthouse. I have seen her there a lot and saw her twice today. The rage was there but I was around security and other people so all she could do is glare. There is a County employee with the last name Carns. I havent had time to go and verify it is her since there is limited access to County offices and I have been very busy. I have done my research.
