New electronic evidence discovered by the People in alleged molestor Mark Dare's case

Motions in limine are being heard in alleged molestor Mark Dare's jury trial this afternoon. The alleged victims are is his stepdaughters.

Public Defender Marek Reavis had filed a motion to limine to exclude Dare's prior conviction for misdemeanor domestic violence and substance abuse. This afternoon, he told Judge Lawrence Killoran that he was withdrawing the request for the substance abuse issue.

Deputy District Attorney Whitney Timm is the prosecutor for the case. She told Judge Killoran that the People "just learned yesterday about new evidence" and she informed Mr. Reavis.

"Computer forensic work had previously been done on this case by Mr. Perrone who used to work for the DA's office. We sent out some of the electronic work to the Supplemental Sex Crime Task Force."

"I intend to present that evidence at trial if the Court permits it," said Ms. Timm. "The report is in Sacramento. It contains electronic evidence so someone has to get it."

Dare's case was trailing a jury trial that concluded this morning. Attorneys met briefly with Judge Killoran on December 2. Jurors have been filling out hardship and long form questionnaires.

Dare was in court by himself.
