Multi alarm fire at Hilficker Pipe Company

Multi alarm fire at Hilficker pipe company, 3900  Broadway. Cal Fire , Arcata Fire, and other departments responding. CHP shut down #2 lane 10 minutes ago.

Cal Fire engines are covering Humboldt bay Fire station 1 and the rest of firefighters are going to the fire.  Firefighters were able to get the fire under control within 20 minutes.

Nov 6 Press Release:

On November 5th at 2117 hrs, Humboldt Bay Fire responded with 3 engines, 1 truck and 1 chief officer to a reported Commercial Structure Fire @ 3900 Broadway St.

The first arriving engine reported an exterior fire that was extending into the building. Firefighters had to force entry into the building through a chain link fence and large sliding doors to gain access to the interior of the building. The fire was controlled in 20 minutes and damage is estimated at $10,000.

There were no firefighter or civilian injuries and crews remained on scene for approximately an hour and a half.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
