David Kobak's roommate was a second generation commercial fisherman nicknamed Fast Freddy

Frederick William Loftus (Fast Freddy), passed on unexpectedly while visiting Eureka, Ca.


Fred was a 2nd generation commercial fisherman. His early years were spent fishing with his family out of Oregon and Washington, most recently from Pier 39 in San Francisco, although many years were spent fishing out of Moss Landing, Ca. 

Fred also spent some years fishing the summer salmon season and the Bering Sea in Alaska. Fred had a love of motorcycles, a good book, and the outdoors. 

Fred is survived by his daughters Crystal (J.R.) LoManto, of Monterey, Ca. Amanda Reeves of Wenatchee, Wa. Grandchildren Joseph Lomanto III, Zachary Andruss, and Emily Reeves. Sister Jacqueline Raven Dahl, nieces Heather Dahl of Oregon, and Jody Hackstadt Kuhman of Arizona.
