Ryan Sundberg reelection campaign kickoff February 5 at Azalea Hall

Ryan Sundberg, Fifth District Supervisor, invites the public to his campaign kickoff at Azalea Hall, February 5, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Ryan is looking forward to a positive and energetic campaign where he will be reaching out to the voters throughout the Fifth District.

Ryan is pleased to be recognized by California Governor, Jerry Brown, for his leadership by appointing him to the California Coastal Commission, giving the Fifth District a strong voice on this very influential agency, a first for the Fifth District.  His appointment was supported by all major north coast cities and counties.

With Ryan’s support, the movement to better fund law enforcement that started in McKinleyville, passed by the countywide vote, is helping return staffing for our Sheriff’s Office to levels before California’s budget realignment reduced our staffing to below barebones levels.  Now the Law Enforcement Facility in McKinleyville is fully staffed with a Lieutenant, two Sargents, and 11 deputies,  serving northern Humboldt County and McKinleyville. By the end of this year, the goal is to have 22 deputies when new deputies are hired.  Before this, there were only two deputies serving the entire northern Humboldt area who came out of Eureka.

One of his commitments was to finally finish the Humboldt County General Plan update, which is now complete and will serve as the long-term guide for our future, ensuring environmental protection while providing  for affordable housing.

One of Ryan’s favorite parts of his job as Supervisor is to work directly with Fifth District residents to try to solve their specific issues and he is recognized as one of the most accessible representatives of the Fifth District.

Please join Ryan for some light refreshments and to give his campaign a rousing kick-off.
