Second EPD cleanup results in 1,000 pounds of garbage collected

EPD Chief Steve Watson:

In response to complaints regarding illegal dumping, camping, public storage, smoking on the boardwalk, and pedestrians causing traffic hazards along the Highway 101 corridor, EPD officers conducted focused enforcement in the Old Town, waterfront, and Broadway/4th/5th Street areas today.

Multiple violators were contacted, numerous issues were addressed, and about 1,000 pounds of garbage was collected. A stolen electric riding shopping cart was also located and returned to the business from which it was taken.

Measure Z funding assisted with a portion of the staffing used in support of this enforcement operation.
