Randall Cook's probation is up soon; victim's mother files restraining order request

Randy Cook's probation is up on March 20. His ex daughter in law, Veronica, has filed a request for restraining order to protect her daughter, Cook's grandaughter. Veronica  told me she would like a five year restraining order to protect her daughter. By that time, she will be 18.

There is a hearing at 8:30 on the restraining order request on February 15.  Cook was served two weeks ago but has yet to file a response.

Randall Cook was originally charged with more serious charges in the case involving his own grandaughter, plead to child endangerment in a plea deal  under Paul Gallegos' administration. The victim was his own granddaughter. His real estate license has been revoked. Randall Cook spent time in jail even after the plea deal. Cook and his wife Suzanne settled a civil lawsuit. The settlement prohibits discussion of details.



Not only was I first to report on this plea deal, not one other media outlet covered this case for months. Randy Cook is an influential in this community with his business connections, social connections such as the Ingomar Club, and his church connections. The plea deal was negotiated under former DA Paul Gallegos' administration. I was told to back off this case, as I have been on other cases.

The victim's mother has been alone in her fight to protect her daughter. Cook's own son, Terry, at his sentencing said he believes his daughter but wants a relationship with his father and family.

Due to statute of limitations, the former DA's adminstration not willing to explore other allegations, the voice of Cook's other alleged sexual abuse victims over the years will never be known.

Mr. Patrik Griego represented the minor in the civil lawsuit. Mr. Rory Hanson is the attorney for the restraining order request. Mr. Michael Robinson had represented Randy Cook in the criminal case. Judge Kelly Neel was the prosecutor in the crimnal case.
