So, Governor Brown when will you be announcing the appointment of Judge Lawrence Killoran?

After not appointing Judges in Humboldt for a long time, Governor Jerry Brown rapidly appoints three Humboldt County Judges, two Democrats; one decline to state; all Public Defenders.

I reported previously that Mr. Kaleb Cockrum was on the  short list. He was expected to be appointed so a press release about his appointment is hardly breaking news. Nor is it news that the Public Defender's office is losing attorneys faster than a hot knife through butter.

Judge Kelly Neel has well rounded experience. Judge Kaleb Cockrum knows the law inside and out.  And, both those appointments are good additions to the Humboldt Superior Court.

Governor Jerry Brown should go ahead and appoint Mr. Lawrence Killoran. He is a private attorney and a registered Democrat but another great addition to the Humboldt Superior Court Bench.

In his other appointments as well as future appointments to the Bench, I hope Governor Brown can appoint more qualified candidates, regardless of political affiliations.
