The guest speaker is John Prince, who is the Department of Homeland Security’s local Customs and Border Protection Federal Officer. He will be talking about CBP’s role in International Seaports.
This presentation is the first in a serieson "The Development of the Port of Humboldt Bay as an International Seaport." The next few Luncheons will be dedicated to envisioning our Harbor as an international seaport.
To lead this theme, Officer Prince will provide an outline of the federal processes of an active seaport, focusing on what is required to import or export internationally.
Larry Henderson, Chair of Humboldt Bay Working Group, said, "Our group believes that it is important for our community tounderstand CBP’s role, as it will be central to the organization and operation of the Port of Humboldt Bay as an international seaport."
