EPD Chief Watson wants you to welcome Officer Marsolan and Cadet Cassidy

EPD Chief Steve Watson introduces two new members of the EPD team:

"Officer Tim Marsolan comes to the Eureka Police Department as a Lateral Police Officer with a wealth of knowledge and experience. Tim worked at the Ukiah Police Department for about 5 years with duties including Field Training Officer (FTO), School Resource Officer (SRO), Narcotic Detection K9 handler, Defensive Tactics instructor, and member of the Multi-Agency Gang Suppression Unit. He also served two tours with the Arcata Police Department where he worked for over 6 years as a police officer, SRO, and FTO. In August 2017, Tim briefly left his employment as a police officer to pursue a career in elementary/secondary education at Humboldt State University where he was enrolled in the Teacher Credential Program.  After completing the Fall semester, Tim decided to return to his true passion with the Eureka Police Department. Tim has a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from HSU."

"Police Recruit Ryan Cassidy was born in Sewickley, PA where he joined the United States Air Force, serving his country for 6 years.  During his Air Force deployment, Ryan's family moved to Humboldt County where he later joined them after his service was complete.  Ryan attended College of the Redwoods and is now a proud member of the 121st Basic Police Academy as an EPD sponsored Cadet.  In his free time he enjoys the outdoors, camping, fishing and riding motorcycles."
