Humboldt County gets failing grade on no tobacco control policies, why not cannabis?
Thank you to KIEM for reporting on this but it isn't just tobacco smoke, it is secondhand smoke from cannabis as well.
Legislation and policies are good direction but common courtesy is the solution. Considerate smokers are not the problem.
Considerate local smokers, both tobacco and cannabis are rare.
You cannot walk a block in Humboldt without someone blowing smoke at you or keep it from stinking up your home and office. We are fortunate to have fresh air so why have local city and County officials as well as environmental groups ignored this environmental and health issue? Bud mania and green cash.
What makes it worse is the cheap weed and cheap cigarettes that stink up public spaces and buildings. It's Humboldt, smoke decent cannabis!
It is worse than alcohol and different. Those who don't smoke are forced to inhale the smoke whether we want to or not, due to your lack of self control. Smoke makes our clothes stink just walking by you. The winds in Humboldt transfer the tobacco and weed stench for blocks. Inconsiderate smokers do not smoke in designated areas.
Strong perfume and cologne is rare in Humboldt. At least those who wear fragrances are considerate to refrain when asked and don't deny people's allergy to it.
That is an issue when you have to walk be around people whose clothes carry it everywhere. And it is offensive to some just as perfume is to you. People are allergic to cannabis; you just can't mention it in Cannaboldt.

More and more people are are becoming hyper sensitive. Multiple chemical sensitivities is a real malady. Everything you mentioned above plus roasting of coffee and the toxic softening perfume that emanates from the laundromats sits off attacks. The pot is especially bad. Put all this together and it's like playing Russian roulette with anaphylaxis just driving with the windows down.
