Drowning victim in Lake Mendocino located two hours later



 



Ukiah Valley Fire Authority was called to Lake Mendocino Sunday afternoon for a drowning victim.

There was a small boat with 2 younger kids and an adult on it. The adult reportedly fell into the water and failed to surface. The two children were wearing their life jackets.

Rescue units were called out to preform a rescue. The victim was found about 2 hours after the first units arrived and was not wearing a life jacket. The victim was found about 30 feet from the shore line and in about 20 feet of water

Responders: UVFA, Willits-Little Lake Fire, Hopland Fire, Medstar/Ukiah Ambulance, Mendocino County Sheriff's Search & Rescue, Mendocino Sheriff, Army Corp of Engineers, CALSTAR and several civilians assisted in the search.
