Are you wondering what happened to the investigation regarding Dirty Dave's death?

A celebration of life was held today at the Eureka Theater for Dirty Dave. Even people who had never met him turned out today to show their respects.

Gary Cudney, was arrested and booked for alleged gross vehicular manslaughter. He posted bail and is out of custody.

EPD has forwarded the report to the DA. No complaint filed yet.

  1. The hundreds of bikes roaring into town yesterday was a awesome tribute to Dave right up to the point where you disregard your safety and the safety of your fellow citizens and began running red lights 10 and 20 strong for 10 to 20 seconds at a time for 15 minutes. Not Cool. Not Cool at all. RIP Dave.

  2. A shame you're critical of the biker's Memorial run. Are you and everyone else in such a rush to not stop and respect why the bikers were in mass in Eureka? Pausing for an extra 7 minutes at all affected intersections isn't life changing or harsh!

    1. You have no reading comprehension. I was a pedestrian with absolutely no idea of the Memorial Run. I only wittnessed what about a hundred other people wittnessed. A mass group of bikers behaving like idiots and running red lights on mass because they felt entitled to do so. How ironic it would have been it someone had gotten hurt or killed. This behavior is disrespectful of Dave's memory especially since Dave was run over in a parking lot by a drunk driver. Shame on you and shame on the few who made the whole lot rotten.

The behavior of the few spoiled the intended spectacle of hundreds of bikers paying their respects to Dave. The shame is on them for their complete disregard for the safety of the public at large around them and the thousands of Men, Women and Children making their futile way to the March just compounds the stupidity of this rouge behavior.

  3. Not one television station sent a reporter to cover Dave's celebration of life. But boy did the reporters flock to the liberal's womens march for coverage. Sick society-sick liberal agenda-sick corruption of our society.
Dave's celebration had over 400+ attendees and it was FANTASTIC!!!!!

    1. Actually Channel 3/KIEM did a facebook post, I didnt watch the newcast. Usually they report on what they also post on facebook.

I don't cover any funerals because that should be private time not media time. Also all lives lost are important, whether 4 people attend or 400.

Whoever organized the celebration of life did not bother to send the information out to me yet I did a post because I know what Dirty Dave's loss means to the community. I knew about the celebration from just being involved and observant.

Did they send the information out to all media or just a few? These are questions you should ask the organizers before criticizing lack of coverage and making assumptions.

And last, I and others spend a lot of time providing information to the community, some working 24/7. We are not compensated enough and a few of us personally spend a lot of our time informing and helping people that you may not know about. A thank you would be nice; getting paid for what we do adequately would be a miracle.

  4. Taking my post wrong. The blame was not against you at all, but channel 3 and 23 choosing politically correct news to cover. Sorry for the big misunderstanding. Thanks.

    1. I appreciate your response Camelg1. I know your comment was not directed at me but I was speaking up for the other media as well as my general frustration with complaints about media coverage from people locally. If you had directed this at Lost Coast Outpost or North Coast Journal, I would agree with you. Channel 3 did cover the event. I know for a fact that the organizers did not contact Channel 23 and as I mentioned they did not contact me. Those who organized this event did a lousy job of advertising the celebration of life and an equally lousy job of acknowledging the coverage this case has received with no help from Dirty Dave's friends or loved ones. It has not been covered the same from all media and some of us put in extra effort. Press releases are issued after some of us follow up. There are tons of cases, deaths, news and people seem to forget that we have lives and other news to cover.

You just happen to get the brunt of the frustration today because people locally do not want to pay for anything but expect 24/7 coverage like this is the big city and think their news is more important than others. I speak up and express what my colleagues cannot because they work for someone else. I know you personally, I know you have a great heart. Keep being you.
