Firearm, Xanax, heroin, just another bust in Humboldt County

On January 17th, 2018, at approximately 11:00AM, Agents with the Humboldt County Drug Task Force, with the assistance of the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit, served a search warrant at a residence in the 3300 block of E Street in Eureka.


Agents contacted 25 year old Matthew Williams and 29 year old Gary Noel outside of the home standing next to Williams’ vehicle, preparing to leave the residence.


Upon contact, Agents witnessed Williams throw approximately 2.8 grams of suspected heroin underneath his vehicle.

While conducting a search of the vehicle, Agents located a loaded Springfield 1911 .45 caliber firearm. Agents also located approximately 1.2 grams of suspected heroin and 12 Xanax pills on Gary Noel’s person.

Once the Agents entered the residence they located 36 year old Jesse Brown. Jesse Brown was found to have a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest.

As a result of the investigation, Matthew Williams was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm while in possession of a controlled substance, and maintaining a residence for the purposes of distributing a controlled substance. 

Gary Noel was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance and Jesse Brown was placed under arrest for his misdemeanor warrant. 

All three were transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where they were booked on the above listed charges.
