"In a courtroom, you got a mic, you have people staring at you, judging you?"

Six men and six women heard closing arguments  today by Deputy District Attorney Carolyn Schaffer and Deputy Public Defender Luke Brownfield in the Edward Winkle White case.

White was Jane Doe's mom's ex boyfriend.

White is charged with Counts 1, 4 and 5 Sexual penetration with a foreign object.

Count 2 Lewd or lascivious act with a child under 14. Special allegation for Count 2 is engaging in " substantial sexual conduct with a victim who is under 14 years of age. 

"Count 3 is a lewd act by a defendant who is atleast 10 years older than the child. Special allegation for Count 3 is "when the act is committed by the use of force, violence, duress, menace, or fear of immediate and unlawful bodily injury on the victim or another person."

(I did not cover the entire trial. I sat in some of the testimony, including when Jane Doe testified about the alleged sex abuse. Quite a few people have attended this trial daily. All names mentioned are a part of court testimony and stated on record.)
