David Kobak's preliminary hearing continued to February 1 due to outstanding discovery from another state

Preliminary hearing for David Kobak scheduled for today was continued to February 1.

Defense requested a brief continuance due to outstanding discovery. People said that discovery is being obtained from out of state. Deputy DA Whitney Barnes did not object to the continuance.

Kobak is charged with one Count; murder of Frederick William Loftus. Count 1 has a special allegation that Kobak "personally and intentionally discharged a firearm" causing great bodily injury or death to Loftus.

Deputy District Attorney Whitney Barnes is prosecuting the case. Deputy Public Defenders Luke Brownfield and Casey Russo are both assigned to the case.
