Elder abuse is a new alleged charge against Michael Eshghipour in the Eel River Dental case


Today, Judge John Feeney granted the District Attorney's request to amend the complaint against Michael Eshghipour.  Elder Abuse is the new charge added and it is Count 1 in the first amended complaint.



Arraignment was continued to February 21 since this is a felony case and Eshghipour was not in court today. Mr. Patrik Griego, one of his attorneys, appeared on his behalf.

Deputy District Attorney Tobias Hastler is prosecuting the case. Mr. Patrik Griego and Mr. Greg Rael are representing Eshghipour.

Eshghipour was originally charged with four counts. The amended complaint has five counts. The remaining counts are:


Count 2: Insurance Fraud; Count 3 Fraudulent Alteration of a Medical Credential; Count 4 Fraudulent Abuse of an Altered Medical Credential, Count 45 Practicing Medicine without Certification.

The alleged counts are from the time Eshghipour was at  Eel River Dental.


Discovery of dental x-rays will be provided to defense.
