Jury trial for Seng Yang charged with forcible rape of his own daughter, set for now, on August 27


Seng Yang was arraigned on 16 charges this morning which include forcible rape of Jane Doe (his own daughter) and exhibiting a minor in pornography.

Dates were set on "time not waived basis". Trial confirmation on August 15. Jury trial on August 27.

"This is your last warning or you will have to leave the courtroom."


On June 7, attempted murder suspect Elijah Stonebear Williams entered a guilty plea to assault with a firearm and special allegations for Count 3.  Count 1 and 2 were dismissed. Agreement was 10 years in prison.

The bailiff had to caution four people who were present for Williams' sentencing not to communicate with Williams.  "This is your last warning or you will have to leave the courtroom."

Humboldt Honey Wine window early this morning

Around 4:45 today, someone broke the window at Humboldt Honey Wine located on Third Street in Eureka.

Alarm company notified building owners; attempts to contact business owners so far, has been unsuccessful. EPD had not been contacted as of 8:30 a.m.


"Officers responded around 9 a.m. and took a report," according to EPD Crime Analyst Brittany Powell.

Owners were reached later and are aware of the situaton now.

Yesterday's Mendocino shooting suspect identified as Ubaldo Ramirez, he is in custody


Mendocino County Sheriff's Detectives continued to investigate the shooting incident overnight and into 07-03-2018.

Federal judge orders U.S. government to release or grant hearings to 1,000 asylum seekers

According to the Mercury News, "A federal judge in Washington, D.C., on Monday ordered the U.S. government to immediately release or grant hearings to more than 1,000 asylum seekers who have been jailed for months or years without individualized case reviews, dealing a blow to the Trump administration’s crackdown on migrants.

Christian Bradford arrested for Living the Dream ice cream burglary


On July  1, 2018, at  about 4:34 a.m., officers  responded to  a  business at  the  foot of  F Street for  the report of  a  burglary  alarm activation.  The  owner of the  business had also called and reported that he  could see  a  male  suspect inside the  business from his remote video  surveillance  system.

No courtrooms, illnesses, witnesses getting married, James Pawlyk's preliminary continued again!


Intervention for James Pawlyk was scheduled for June 18. Preliminary hearing was confirmed for June 20. Due to courtroom unavailabity, continued to July 2.
Today, it was continued to August 14. was ill.

Noah Levy arrested for public intoxication


Noah Levy booked at 1:30 a.m. on July 1 and released on OR at 7:11 a.m for public intoxication. Arresting Agency HSU police.

In 2014, Levy entered a no contest plea to Count 1, reckless driving. Count 2 DUI was dismissed. Probation ended in 2017.

Police stumble on a $1.2 million grow while looking for a suspect on unrelated warrant

"Police in Georgia showed up at an upscale house in Cherokee County looking for a suspected criminal on Friday only to find a completely unrelated $1.2 million marijuana grow house operation -- and a very elusive homeowner."

Los Angeles man arrested for mass stabbing in Idaho, victims included children



Nine people, including six children, were injured in a mass stabbing in an apartment complex in Boise, Idaho. Four victims are in critical condition.
