Scott Joachim bail bond forfeited, should have remanded him at the last court hearing

 

On June 28, I said Humboldt Superior Court Judge Steven Steward was wrong to deny the People's request to remand Scott Joachim.

E court summary stated Joachim failed to appear. I checked court minutes and you can see Joachim showed up late via Zoom. Bench warrant of $35,000 was issued held until next court date of 7/16/26 when Dr. Brunetto's report is due. Dr. reports can take months. Who knows whether Joachim will show up at the next court date. With the bail bond forfeited; what is Joachim's incentive? I am no longer following the case since criminal proceedings are suspended.
