Most reports, except Fox News, state the ruling as 6-3. One of three who dissented, Justice Brett Kavanaugh, said the order violated federal law but not the Constitution.

In another 6-3 ruling, the U.S. Supreme Court with the majority opinion written by Justice Brett Kavanaugh, states may ban transgender girls from participating in sports at publicly funded schools.
The ruling states that state-level bans do not violate the 14th Amendment’s Equal Protection Clause and these restrictions do not conflict with Title IX.
