Another case made headlines; interest lost due to the nth continuance

 

The main reason I am following this case is because of the child abuse charge. The November 2025 post has charges and all updates from arraignment, Hill being granted supervised release and 6 continuances for the preliminary hearing.

I wasted more time on 6/11. The case was on for setting of preliminary hearing and motion for joinder filed by defense. At the hearing, Conflict Counsel said the motion for joinder was set incorrectly. Defense wanted motion to compel. Setting of preliminary hearing was continued by stipulation and scheduled with motion to compel on 7/2.

On that date, defense will request another continuance making it the 8th one saying they just received discovery or waiting for discovery.

By the time, most of these Humboldt cases go to preliminary hearing or jury trial; no one except the attorneys and parties in the case are interested. With the amount of continuances and rescheduling of dates nor am I.

I don't follow these cases because I am paid and benefit from the criminal justice complex. I do it because I believe in law and order. Those who get paid have burn out. So do I. It should be obvious to anyone who has followed me frim the beginning and why.
