Gabriel Lee Owen was booked yesterday into the Humbodt County jail. He was in prison and returned to Humboldt County.
He was already resentenced on 10/28/22 by now Retired Judge Christopher Wilson after remittitur on appeal.
There is nothing in e court yet on why he is back in Eureka. I spoke with Senior Deputy District Attorney Roger Rees and he had not heard why either. There is no recent order to produce a prisoner. I just spoke to former Humboldt County DA Maggie Fleming who handles special cases including resentencing. She did not know why about this specific case either.
There have been rulings by the California Supreme Court and California legislature that the local judges and attorneys keep up with and mention in court. I do include that in my live coverage
