Humboldt Deputy Counsel Heather Durand being considered for Retired Judge Joyce Hinrich's vacant seat

Finally, some movement about Retired Humboldt Superior Court Judge Joyce Hinrich's vacant seat. I have done many posts about no news from California Governor's Office of Judicial Appointments.

Three potential names I mentioned in the past were Humboldt Superior Court Commissioner Sarah Kaber; former Humboldt Deputy County Counsel Karen Roebuck and Humboldt Deputy DA Jessica Watson.

Recently, Humboldt Deputy County Counsel Heather Durand who some may know as Heather Cooper, is under consideration. 

In March 2025, I reported that a female deputy Humboldt County Counsel was one of the applicants; Ms. Durand told me it was not her and she wasn't going anywhere. I reported later it was former Deputy Counsel Karen Roebuck.
