I had stopped covering criminal threat suspect Frederick Breckenridge because criminal proceedings had been suspended. My last update was in August 2025 added to the April 16, 2025 post.
As usual, no other media covered Breckenridge. I have since 2023 and you can access all those posts via the search feature on the blog or Google. He threatened Humboldt County First District Supervisor Rex Bohn and family.
This post picks up since my last update. Breckenridge has wasted a lot time and court resources with the competency evaluation, thenbeing screened for mental health diversion, and two Humboldt Superior Court judges have already denied his Marsden motions.
On 10/28/25, he was found competent to stand trial. On 11/5/25 OR & supervised release was denied by Humboldt Superior Court Presidi g Judge Kelly Neel. On 12/16/25, relim waived 12/16/25, he rejected a plea and waived his preliminary hearing. On 12/31/25, he was arraigned on information. Readiness Conference is on 2/10/26 and jury trial on 2/23/26.
