The objections filed by St. Joe's on December 10 to the amended appendix of evidence are far more interesting than the same ole arguments at every hearing the lawsuit filed by the State of California

I added my 12/10/25 update in the State of California's lawsuit against St. Joe's to my previous post. I did not attend the I did not hearing in person because I had a feeling Humboldt Superior Court Judge Timothy Canning would take the matter under submission He did. The arguments basically are the same at every hearing. There was also a motion to seal requested by the State of California.

I was waiting for certain documents filed on 12/10/25 to be added to e court and they finally were when I checked the case yesterday. With civil cases in Humboldt Superior Court, that is typical.

I also checked to see if Humboldt Superior Court Judge Timothy Canning had issued a ruling. I would be surprised if there is one before the end of the year. There are a lot of documents in this case, there is a stipulation in place until his ruling and future dates are in October 2026.

There are several other civil cases that more urgently affect people in Eureka and Humboldt than this one case which is political in motivation.

The Humboldt elected officials showing up for soundbytes in this case have been a dismal failure in improving healthcare or getting more health care professionals in Humboldt County. If they did their job, people living in Humboldt. would have another option besides St. Joe's. They are the same failed leadership who cater to their minority elites and employ and enable sycophants but haven't moved this county forward in the 22 years I have been here.
