On Friday, December 19, I checked and jury trial for convicted felon Silverio Parro Snider Sanchez and his PRCS hearing were confirmed for 12/22/25.
Yesterday, Sanchez entered a plea. He admitted the post release community supervision violation.
Humboldt Deputy District Attorney Roger Rees appeared on the case for the People. When Mr. Rees made the offer to resolve the case before Humboldt Superior Court Judge Kaleb Cockrum, Sanchez rejected the offer. Mr. Rees withdrew the offer.
The case was sent to Judge Steven Steward. Sanchez's custody status was changed to no bail. Sanchez later entered a conditional plea with a tentative from the Court to no additional jail time. As a convicted felon, Sanchez is prohibited from possessing firearms or body armor for life.
Sanchez pleaded guilty to Count 2 criminal threats. The People dismissed Count 1 and 3.
Sentencing is on 1/16/26
Maybe, private attorney Mr. Ken Bareilles should be appointed more often when there is a conflict with public defenders. This is a repeat career criminal and instead of dragging out cases for months like certain public defenders and private attorneys on the conflict panel and racking up expenses paid by taxpayers, the case resolved quickly.
