I just did a post on December 12 where Humboldt District Attorney Stacey Eads and DA Chief Investigator Kyla Baxley both said Cass Bell's case was being reviewed.
In my November 17 post, I already wrote that I doubt that charges would be filed and even if they were, what the outcome would be.
I was the first one to report about Bell's November 3 arrest for PC 245(a)(4) assault likely to produce great bodily injury. I have been the only one to cover Bell before.
Since his arrest, I have regularly checked on the case and no charges have been filed. Today, I confirmed that Bell's bail bond has been exonerated.
This week due to holiday closures and several people at the DA's office not in this week; I have reached out to Bell if he has received a dismissal and I will follow up with the DA's office but this isn't something urgent that cannot wait a few days.
As I said previously, until the DA makes a decision whether charges have been filed or not; I am not going to write what I have known about the arrest, the alleged victim, other parties in the case or how this has impacted Bell.
