On December 23, I did a post about this lawsuit.
https://johnchiv.blogspot.com/2025/12/two-more-lawsuits-against-city-of.html?m=1
Court documents were finally available yesterday.
Paul Hills is suing City of Eureka, County of Humboldt and State of California. Hills is represented by Torrance attorney Erica Chavez. The claims are for personal injury and general negligence.
The complaint claims that Hills was traveling on on his e-scooter "approaching the intersection" of 7th and A "when he struck a hazardous exposed pavement deformity" causing him "severe and permanent bodily injuries."
Case management conference is scheduled for 6/15/26.
There are two pages filed as 5. That is an error by whoever typed the complaint.
6/15/26: Court minutes were finally added on 6/19/26. No appearances by any of the parties.
Case Management Conference continued to 9/18/26. Scheduled the same day is Order to show cause for plaintiff's counsel failure to appear; failure to serve summons and
failure to file case management statement.
With the amount of civil documents that are filed and do not make into e court or the file; let's see what Hills' attorney has to say.
