Ray Christie's lawsuit is reassigned to Judge Wise in San Jose

Ray Christie's lawsuit against the County of Humboldt, former HCSO Deputy Travis Mendes, former Humboldt Deputy DA Adrian Kamada and Humboldt Sheriff William Honsal was originally assigned to Judge Robert M. Illman but the case will not proceed at the Eureka-Mckinleyville courthouse.

As I reporter previously, Mr. Kamada is now a Humboldt Deputy Public Defender and as I also reported previously and exclusively Mendes is now employed by CALFire.

The case has been reassigned to Judge Noel Wise at the San Jose location. Christie did not consent to Ilman.

The County has yet to indicate who will represent them. Maybe that discussion and/or decision will occur during closed session where this lawsuit is one of four items on the agenda.
