Patient who had threatened San Francisco doctor stabbed social worker multiple times

 


Wilfredo Tortolero Arriechi stabbed a social worker multiple times on December 4 at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and was booked for attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, mayhem and being armed during the commission of a felony. The social worker died today. Charges are expected to be updated.

Hospital staff had requested additional security after the suspect who was a patient had threatened a doctor several times.

December 6 SFPD Press Release:

On December 4, 2025, at approximately 3:04 p.m., San Francisco Police officers responded to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center regarding a stabbing.

Officers were advised that at approximately 1:39 p.m., an adult male suspect had stabbed a victim multiple times and was being detained by the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department.

The victim sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

Despite the lifesaving efforts of medical staff, the victim was declared deceased at the hospital on December 6, 2025.

Investigators developed probable cause to arrest 34-year-old Wilfredo Tortolero Arriechi of San Francisco.

Tortolero Arriechi was booked into San Francisco County Jail for attempted murder (664/187 PC), assault with a deadly weapon (245 (a)(1) PC), mayhem (203 PC), and being armed during the commission of a felony (12022 (b)(1) PC).

The San Francisco Homicide Detail is now leading the investigation. The Homicide Detail will be updating the charges upon review of the case.
