Two more lawsuits against City of Eureka; one by local attorney Delman Smith

 

Told you more lawsuits were being filed against the City of Eureka. Both were recorded in Humboldt Superior Court on 12/19/25. There are no details or documents scanned into e court and it can take a week or more for documents in civil cases.

The first lawsuit is by local attorney Delman Smith and his wife Hazel Smith against the City of Eureka and County of Humboldt. They have hired Zwerdling Law Firm. Mr. Richard Dalrymple is listed as their attorney.

I would guess from the law firm the Smith's hired and it being listed in the tort category, that it is probably related to the criminal case I covered.

The other case is Paul Hills against City of Eureka, County of Humboldt and State of California. Also a tort case. Hills is represented by Ms Erica Chavez. She is an attorney from Torrance and also represents clients in personal injury cases.

Both lawsuits have case management conferences scheduled for 6/15/26.
