Joanne Carter says she observed Humboldt Judge and Public Defender using cocaine on several occasions

What is good for the goose is good for the gander. 

In the latest filing by former Public Defender Rory Kalin in his lawsuit against Humboldt Presiding Judge Gregory Kreis, current Public Defender Luke Brownfield and former Public Defender Marek Reavis, you can read the declarations from Kalin's attorney and doctor and excerpts from depositions.

Who needs a reality show when you have As the Humboldt Superior Turns starring Kreis and Humboldt Superior Court buddies?

In excerpts of the deposition by attorney Joanne Carter, she claims she observed Kreis and Brownfield using cocaine. Other claims include Kreis using marijuana, Vicodin and Norco pills , drunk drinking, Kreis gyrating hips with women, Kreis socializing with public defenders and county employees. Of the two attorneys mentioned in depositions, one is now in private practice and one worked at the same law firm as Kreis' attorney and is now working at the public defender's office. 

I have seen Kreis' attorney, Deputy Public Defender Casey Russo, former Public Defender Heidi Holmquist Wells socializing in Old Town. I have seen Luke Brownfield and others socializing at a local bar. Kreis was a public defender before he became a Judge. 

There is already visible evidence of Kreis' misjudgement of partying on the boat with public defenders.

As for the rest of the allegations, let's see what else comes out and is allowed to be public. You think attorneys and others in a  small County who appear before Kreis in court, whose livelihood is in the hands of the current Presiding Judge Kreis, who socialized with Kreis are going to go against him?

There is a lot of more information in other depositions and a lot more that is known out in the community.  Whether this case goes to trial or settles, how much will be revealed that many in the Humboldt legal community are already aware of ?

7/7: The reply to opposition filed by Mr. Griego was not in e court before the hearing, Judge Moorman did not have it and it appeared in e court after the hearing. Mr. Griego had video issues, he signed on his cell phone, there were audio issues. Another motion is scheduled for 8/4. The court minutes are a good summary of the hearing.
