Less than a year into the job Sequoia Park Zoo Foundation Executive Director David Reed has left his position for family reasons. The Foundation will be announcing their search the position shortly. The press release issued at 12:32 p.m. has been added to the post.

The Sequoia Park Zoo Foundation is seeking a leader to join their strong team and usher in a new era for the organization. The Executive Director serves as the chief executive of a successful 501(c)3 non-profit providing philanthropic support for a local treasure, Sequoia Park Zoo.
The Executive Director can see the big picture as well as focus on each detail required to get there. Responsible for overall prioritization of staff work and ongoing campaigns to achieve all organizational goals. Implements the strategic plan of the organization, developed in conjunction with the Board of Directors, and provides oversight of all the Foundation's operations. Manages all Foundation office employees. Builds and maintains good relationships and communication with Zoo Management and other city personnel, state and federal representatives, community partners, stakeholders, and existing/prospective donors. Plans, develops, implements, and oversees all fundraising efforts for the organization. Prepares and manages annual budget. Ensures financial sustainability by creating an annual fund development program and supporting strategy to provide adequate funding for Foundation operations, services, programs, and special/capital projects. Positively promotes the organization and Sequoia Park Zoo within the community to ensure a broad base of funding resources and public support.
