I covered Andrew Andreoli's arrest in 2021. The DA's office charged him with two counts. Count 1 is PC 368 (1) elder abuse. Count 2 is false imprisonment of an elder/dependent adult. Andreoli is out of custody on supervised release.
Today, Andreoli appeared on his court case via Zoom. In addition to muting and unmuting his mic when his case was not on, Andreoli thought Zoom meant no one was watching. Retired Judge Christopher Wilson was; I also saw the puff of smoke in Andreoli's car.
"Mr. Andreoli we don't smoke in court," Judge Wilson told him. I want you to stop smoking in my face while you are on Zoom."

8/9: Petition for mental health diversion withdrawn. Trial confirmation on 12/20/23; jury trial on 1/8/24.
12/20/23: Trial confirmation continued by defense to 1/3/24; jury trial is on 1/8/24. Time estimate 3 to 5 days.
1/3/24: Trial confirmed. Trial assignment on 1/5/24. TE for jury trial is 5 days.
