There is an ongoing dispute between Kyla Tripodi Nored vs Andrew Barnett and Nazanin Namazi. After Barnett and Namazi sued Nored, she filed a defamation suit against them.
At the 6/9 Case Management Conference and Barnett and Namazi's attorney failed to appear. Court minutes indicate that Namazi told Judge Timothy Canning her attorney is ill. Judge Canning scheduled an Order to show cause for failure to appear on 7/28.
There is a case management conference and hearing on 6/23 on the Motion to compel deposition of Andrew Barnett filed by Nored. Her attorney claims Barnett was disruptive in federal court, appeared to be under the influence of cannabis and clutched a stuffed animal while he testified in federal court. Namazi and Barnett in their answer said Nored's attorney is disparaging Barnett's character.

6/23: Motion to compel granted. Order to show cause date of 7/28 vacated. Another CMC on 8/18.
8/18 /23: Another substitution of attorney for defendants. Settlement conference on 12/19/23; Readiness conference on 3/8/24 and Jury trial on 3/11/24.
12/19/23: No courtroom and no judge available. Settlement conference continued to 1/18/24.
1/18/24: Settlement conference vacated. March 8 and March 11 2024 dates were vacated later after settlement was finalized between both parties outside court and dismissal filed. When cases settle, it is standard that a dismissal is filed.
