Convicted sex offender Joe Hale was sentenced for upskirting on June 6, 2023 and ordered by Mendocino Judge Ann Moorman to register as a sex offender within the 5 day deadline. Hale is the former Humboldt court mediator and a former CWS employee.
He should register with Eureka Police Department or the Humboldt County Sheriff. Don't see him on Megan's Law yet. Let's say Hale has until June 12. Is he waiting until the very last day?
I contacted both EPD and HCSO. EPD referred me to HCSO. Veronnica Dellis,Humboldt County Sheriff's Office Legal Office Services Manager responded,"The information you are requesting for Mr. Hale is not releasable through our office. The public information through Megan’s Law may not be updated quite yet, due to this being so recent."
Not all sex offenders are registered on the Megan's Law website in California. Tier 1 offenders are not posted to the site unless that Tier 1 offender poses a specific and demonstrable threat to a community.
Considering who his victims are and where he abused them including using his position in the local court system, Hale should be on the Megan's Law website.
