On May 22, I was the only one in court to report on former Humboldt Superior court mediator and former CWS employee Joe Hale's arraignment which was continued to amend the complaint. There are four Jane Does and each count pertains to a different alleged victim.
Like many exclusives on this blog, especially about Humboldt courts, I previously reported that one of the former court clerks was dating a Humboldt Deputy DA Ian Harris and this former court employee is the one who allegedly caught Hale in the act. I heard today that Hale had submitted an apology.
I have done several posts on Humboldt Superior Court, state agencies and others being aware of issues with Hale for years.
Hale was arrested on June 29, 2022. The amended complaint states that the Humboldt DA's office was not aware of the hidden recordings until they obtained a search warrant for Hale's phone and did a cell phone extraction. The hidden recordings were not the only issue or complaints about Hale.
The DA's office and others may not have been aware of the hidden recordings until June 30, 2022 but hundreds of people say they filed complaints about Hale with Humboldt Superior Court. Why was there no action or investigation about those issues? If there was, the public deserves answers.
I have been covering Humboldt courts daily and regularly. Court administration has refused and ignored several inquiries including questions about Hale and I have written about them on this blog Even if Humboldt courts issued a statement now, seeing how things operate for 10 years in the local courts and 20 years in Humboldt, I won't believe any late disclosures from a court administration that has been less than transparent about Judge Gregory Kreis, former CEO Kim Bartleson and former court mediators Velda Gooden and Hale.
