Defense to subpoena Mia Felder's Uber records before she arrived at Daniel Dozier's residence

Last time, the People requested a continuance. Today, the defense asked to continue the preliminary hearing scheduled for voluntary manslaughter suspect Daniel Dozier.

Ms. Andrea Sullivan told Judge Joyce Hinrichs she had emailed Deputy District Attorney Roger Rees that she would be seeking a continuance and why.

"We are subpoenaing Uber records of decedent prior to arriving at my client's house," said Ms. Sullivan. "We have most of the discovery but we don't have the forensic download of decedent's phone."

Mr. Rees waived written notice, acknowledged the Court would find good cause but stated his objection on record.

"I don't believe where the decedent was prior to defendant's house is relevant for the preliminary hearing," said Mr. Rees. " At trial, maybe."

"The decedent in this case had bite marks on her and significant contusion on her," said Ms. Sullivan. This information is relevant to Dozier said Ms. Sullivan given the charges and would be detrimental if excluded from preliminary hearing.

The preliminary hearing was rescheduled for June 12. Time estimate is 3 hours.

Dozier was in court, dressed in a suit and accompanied by a woman. The alleged victim is Dozier's former partner Mia Felder. Her parents and another woman were in court. I was reminded by Felder's former coworkers at Kool Beanz coffee and ice cream that she worked there.
