Hit and run suspect also charged with vehicular manslaughter

Hit and run suspect Jose Guzman Jimenez has also been charged with vehicular manslaughter, speeding and unsafe speed.

Arraignment was on 5/26. Jimenez has retained Mr. Ben Okin. Deputy District Attorneys Ian Harris and Carolyn Schaffer both appeared on the case at arraignment. Jimenez waived 10 and 60 days and a 977 waiver of personal appearance was filed. Preliminary hearing is on 8/31.

I have been checking daily since his arrest to see if Jimenez had been charged. If Humboldt Superior Court would properly list defendant's names instead of creating different spelling names, particularly those who are Hispanic or Latino, I would have reported this on the day of arraignment. I had to go to the DA's office, then check e court. 

My schedule is too busy to chase down these constant errors by Dumboldt Superior Court. Don't even get me started on the extra time I have to spend so I can get some access to the public computers because there are only two and there is a lot of demand which is worsened by out of state credit company hiring researchers who hold the public computers hostage for 6 to 7 hours for most of the day while media, attorneys, bail bond employees and the public have to work around schedules of these companies using public access for profit. These companies can pay for their monopoly and abuse of public access.

Dumboldt Superior Court does not care about public access or the working conditions of their employees as long as the court admin and current  Presiding Judge are collecting their fat paychecks for the most chaotic, disorganized environment I have seen in 10 years. Employees, experienced ones have left Humboldt Superior Court faster than passengers on the sinking Titanic.
