Third 2023 arrest after court releases on O.R and his attorney is charged in a criminal case

John Curtis Lewis was booked into jail yesterday on an arrest warrant for PC 422, criminal threats. This charge  is from his third 2023 case.

Lewis has a family law case with the alleged victim from the criminal threats case and two other 2023 cases in the Humboldt Superior Court system. One with a vandalism charge with the same arraignment date; the other with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm Lewis' attorney in the assault case is Victor Campos who has pending criminal charges against him. Jury trial is scheduled in Lewis' assault case.

7/6: Preliminary hearing was scheduled today in Lewis' criminal threats and vandalism case and pre trial in the assault case. Lewis is represented by Campos in all three cases. Arraignment in the criminal threats and vandalism case was done on 6/22.  On 6/26 OR bail and supervised release was denied.

7/6: All cases were continued to 8/14. Preliminary hearing was scheduled today in the criminal threats and vandalism case. Pre trial in his assault case. Trial confirmation for 9/27 and jury trial for 10/9 still scheduled in the assault case. The Public Defender's office was originally appointed at arraignment, then Campos appointed at OR/bail and now PD appointed again because Lewis does not want Campos to represent him and this led to the continuance.
