Two in their 60s busted by POP for heroin charges

Detectives with the Eureka Police Department’s Problem Oriented Policing Team (POP) obtained a search warrant for narcotics after a month-long investigation of Simone Grossman, 60 years old of Eureka.

On September 30, 2020, at about 5:23 p.m., POP detectives contacted Grossman in her vehicle in a parking lot near the 3300 block of Broadway.  Grossman was found to be in possession of approximately two ounces of heroin and currency.  The passenger in the vehicle was identified as Alice Howard, 61 years old of Eureka.  Howard was found to be in possession of a small amount of heroin.

POP Detectives responded to Grossman’s residence on the 2500 block of C Street to serve the warrant.  During a search of the residence, twelve ounces of heroin, a digital scale, packaging material, and currency were located.  During the service of the warrant, a total of 14.3 ounces of heroin and over $5,500 in currency was seized.

Due to health concerns, Grossman and Howard were cited and released with court dates pending.  Grossman was cited for possession of heroin for sales and transportation of heroin.  Howard was cited for possession of heroin.
